Position Summary:
Accounting processes includes our credit card receipts, accruals, accounts receivable processes, treasury management, and intercompany accounting.  Reporting to the VP of Finance, the position will partner with the hotel General Managers, restaurant management, and internal teams for financial accuracy.  Additionally, the role manages our accounting close and reconcilement within the company. 

Essential Functions
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Prepare all necessary month end adjusting journal entries. Balance and close all accounting modules.
  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
  • Propose write-offs, or significant Year End accounting adjustments, using GAAP insights and judgement.
  • Ability to work with various accounting and software applications.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation and intercompany processes. 
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Assist auditor with all necessary year end documentation and closure of the books.
  • Determine loan payback schedules based on collaboration with financial analyst, owners, and VP of Finance.
  • Clerical duties are also required such as collecting, organizing, and filing paperwork, assisting Accounting Manager with any projects or tasks requested, and handling routine correspondence while following Suburban Inns, federal, state, and/or other laws and regulations laws.    
  • Undertake special projects requested by the VP of Finance.
  • Follow all Suburban Inns processes
  • Maintain a positive attitude throughout the day, and keep Team Member morale high.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs and expectations of our guests, then go one step further.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge:  Requires ability to interpret/extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions.  Requires spreadsheet analysis, typing, record keeping, and word processing skills. Microsoft Excel, Accounting Software (e.g. M3, Oracle, SAP, Quickbooks, etc.). Excellent communication.

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:  This position requires a minimum formal education of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent related experience.

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required:  Valid driver’s license required

Work Schedule:  Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments.  The schedule varies according to business demands and needs.

Required Travel: The position does require travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations.

Appearance:  All facial piercings must be approved by management. Hair must be kept well-groomed. All tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved in writing by management.
