Third Shift Houseman- Embassy Suites Grand Rapids Downtown

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting in various aspects of the housekeeping department while following Suburban Inns’ Core Values and Hilton/Embassy Suites standards, as well as going above and beyond to ensure that guests are 100% satisfied. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Report to work in uniform presented professionally, neat, and clean
  • Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner. Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valued
  • Anticipate and meet the needs and expectations of our guests, then go one step further
  • Communicate regularly with the Supervisors to ensure they know of any linen shortages or laundry backups
  • Store clean linens in the appropriate areas of the laundry room and storage rooms
  • Run clean linen and supplies to storage on floors
  • Ensure that enough linen is available to start the next day’s housekeeping shift
  • Keep the laundry room and storage rooms stocked with all necessary supplies
  • Communicate regularly with the Executive or Assistant Executive Housekeeper to ensure they know of any linen shortages or laundry backups
  • Assist in washing all laundry according to manufacture instructions, watching for stains, damage, and wear.  If items are found with these issues, separate them from the rest and take care of accordingly
  • Assist with drying and folding laundry
  • Report any maintenance issues to Supervisor
  • Report all lost and found items to Supervisor
  • Ensure that all standards set by Suburban Inns and Hilton are being followed at all times
  • Deliver items to guest rooms as requested by the front desk
  • Assist in cleaning of rooms as needed
  • Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed including taking any room service items back to the kitchen
  • Assist with quarterly linen inventory
  • Maintain a positive attitude throughout the shift, and keep Team Member morale high
  • Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
  • Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
  • Other duties as requested by management

 

Position Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge:  Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions.  May require typing, basic computer knowledge, record keeping, or word processing.  Good communication skills
