Director of IT
As the Director of IT you would be responsible for leading and managing Suburban Inns technology initiatives. As the Director of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of systems and technology services, and aligning IT strategies with overall company objectives while following Suburban Inns, IHG, Marriott, and Hilton Standards.

Essential Functions:
- Hold Team Members accountable to the standards of employment and job performance set by the core values of Suburban Inns.
- Lead and mentor the IT department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Manage the IT team responsible for systems administration, network infrastructure, software development, and IT support.
- Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy in alignment with business goals. Ensure IT systems and services support current and future needs of the company.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to meet operation needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, including data centers, servers, networking, security, cloud services, and disaster recovery systems.
- Implement and monitor IT security protocols to safeguard company data, systems, and assets. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Develop risk management strategies to protect the company from IT-related threats.
- Maintain a working inventory of all Suburban Inns owned IT equipment per property/location.
- Manage procurement and set up new PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and shared drives.
- Support hotel properties with guest wi-fi, franchise network support, guest TV support, and Point of Sale support if applicable (POS & PMS).
- Installation and support of security camera systems, cloud services, audio/visual systems.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Manage resources and schedules effectively.
- Conduct bi-annual preventative maintenance of all technological systems (POS, PMS, laptop, server, PC, tablet, etc.).
- Partner with senior leadership, properties, and external partners to identify IT needs and deliver solutions that enhance business operations and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee relationships with third-party vendors, including negotiating contracts, managing service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring vendor performance aligns with company needs.
- Identify opportunities for technological advancements and innovation. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on IT performance, project status, and key metrics. Track and evaluate the success of IT initiatives.
- Stay current on PCI compliance standards and ensure our systems remain compliant.
- Display strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical issues and drive solutions.
- Undertake special projects as requested by Executive Officers.
- Follow all Suburban Inns Processes.
- Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. Requires typing, record keeping, and word processing skills, as well as knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. Requires the ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Basic knowledge of HTML coding is an asset but not required. Excellent communication skills
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A master’s degree is preferred. And 4+ years in IT leadership, including experience managing teams, IT operations, and projects.
License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Valid driver’s license; minimum CCNA or equivalent; CISSP, ITIL or other relevant IT management or security certifications is preferred.
Work Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs
Required Travel: Position does require travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations.
